The following rotational changes in the management of our Society took place at the General Assembly in Hannover in 2022:

Professor Toru Masuzawa from Ibaraki University, Japan, has become President.

Aly El Banayosy MD, a Critical Care Expert at Integris Nazih Zuhdi Transpland Institute  is now Immediate Past President.

Antonio Loforte MD, Staff Surgeon and Chair of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program in the Division of Cardiac Surgery, S. Orsola University Hospital, IRCCS Bologna is President Elect and will move to President in 2023.  Dr Loforte also take on the new role of Society Representative to Artificial Organs (the official journal of ISMCS).

Thomas Schlöglhofer, MSc, of the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, becomes Secretary General.

Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Nix, Director of Medical Science at Abiomed Europe, has taken over the role of Treasurer.

We welcome the new Board members Katrin Lunze, Ina Laura Perkins, Steven Jacobs, Tomonori Tsukiya and Rob Dowling on to the Board of Trusteesof our Society, and thank Daniel Timms, and Osamu Maruyama for their great contributions to the Board of Trustees during the past six years and Geoff Tansley and Tomonori Tsukiya for their support as Secretary General and Treasurer over the last four years.
